Unkept for Unkempt

Kempt comes from combed, whereas kept’s etymology is different, coming from keep.
There are quite a few ghits for unkept in phrases such as “unkept hair.”
People are likely thinking of things such as “well kept,” and upkeep, etc. when making this substitution.
