You should add this one to the eggcorn section of your blog. Looks like a real eggcorn to me, despite the etymological affinities of “afoot” and “of foot.” It’s a common mistake, too. Here are a couple hundred examples: http://www.google.ca/search?&q=%22fleet+afoot%22 There’s even a example in COCA.
