Unfortunate conditions: "dire rear" and "old timer's disease"

I have heard both of these usages among people who have limited literacy. An old woman who was my baby sitter referred to her late husband’s constant upset bowels as “the dire rear” (for diarrhea). I have heard a number of people refer to a form of senile dementia as “old timer’s disease” (for Alzheimer’s Disease).

Old Timer’s Disease is already in the Database: http://eggcorns.lascribe.net/english/337/old-timers/

Dire rear is not, and it looks like a promising candidate to me.
