Rehash means to revisit an argument, to go over something again, usually without adding anything new, like reincarnation of a pot of chili. For those who have never made a hash of anything, however, “rehash” can be reborn as an eggcorn, or “rehatch”ed.
Examples from the web
“Please do a search before you rehatch your communist propoganda.” (http://www.arguewitheveryone.com/war-ir … itary.html)
We could see another rehatch of the Bradley/Wilder/Dinkins effect. (http://www.paintballforum.com/news-deba … ist-2.html)
the biggest problem here is that the song list is very formulaic. nearly every song is a rehatch of a song from the first movie. (http://www.amazon.com/review/R2FBNQO7LAODCD)
It’s hard to know how many people use it in this form, because it is also used in its sense of being “hatched again.”
