From a CNN news story (online):
Last week at assault by pirates on a U.S.-flagged ship, the Maersk Alabama ended when U.S. Navy sharshoopers stormed the vessel and shot and killed three of the pirates who were holding the ship’s captain captive.
There are several wrong or questionable aspects of this remarkable sentence (“at assault”? the Navy did not “storm†the Maersk Alabama, or even the lifeboat the pirates were on.) But particularly, where does sharshoopers come from? The bastard offspring of sharpshooters and startroopers , perhaps, descending on the ship in one swell foop?
