“Since day one” means the since the beginning, of course. “The day was won” if we were successful, at battle or cricket. “Since day won” is potentially a blend of the two … but I don’t get the clear historical evidence of a win in these examples. Google says 463 ughits, but the true number is nowhere near that.
The women’s side had lead the league since day won whereas the men’s side had been tucked in second place

BTW: i ran into bruce the other day,, forgot he was with the club since day won

Soccer discussion site: That has always been the case though, since day won. (http://www.redcafe.net/2816656-post34.html)

I think these have to be examples of what I’ve called “WTF typos.” Typically, a homophone is substituted for the correct word in a way that makes no sense. I do this all the thyme—especially when I’m typing or notetaking in a big hurry. I think this happens when I’m typing because I subvocalize as I go along, and my fingers simply produce a spelling—any spelling—that answers to the last sound I’ve uttered. It’s harder to say why this occasionally pops up in notetaking during talks and lectures.
In any case, “since day won” is charming if nonsensical. I’m tempted to resort to creation myths in order to make this eggcornish—daylight and order triumphing over darkling chaos at the dawn of time isn’t such a bad image for the very beginning of something—but that’s probably overthinking the situation.

WTF dude, I like your explanation. I know very well the exasperation, as does anyone who uses instant messengers. BTW I found your explanation for a WTFT here: http://eggcorns.lascribe.net/forum/view … p?id=2845, at the end of a lovely scrimp coquetel.
