Today, some variants: beach barn fire, bahn-fire, bond fire and Bonn fire.

I stumbled upon an instance of “bond fire” that might indicate more clearly its alternative imagery, as a fire where people bond.

Why would they send their armies if everyone was singing songs in front of bond fires and holding hands?
