“the federal government is chalked full of liars and lobbyists” From a USAToday comment

Interesting interpretation for chalked full. There is a rather long line of previous entries on this confusion, none of which offer an explanation for it. Paul Brians lists it as a straight error.

2005 (makes an interesting read)

Here’s a meta-error that I hope Mr. Brians might appreciate.
A Brians error In consideration of the sexual element in Romeo and Juliet I think Paul Brains says it best in that “the sexual punning begins in ll. 25-35 and continues throughout the play. The love of Romeo and Juliet, although idealized, is rooted in passionate sexuality”.

Beyond the homophones of “chock,†Ken Lakritz posted “chopped full†in 2005, and there are quite a few instances on the Web; right now I’m getting 126 ugh for the string “is chopped full of.†And then of course we had “stock full of†last year. I bet there are plenty more variants out there. I went looking for “shopped full of,†and found a tiny handful, some of which are suspect:
It feels as if it were designed with kids in mind. Its shopped full of cheesy moments and corny jokes.

So, a not so skilled nurse, stuck me five times, finally got a vein, and they filled me full speed ahead with some normal saline shopped full of potassium and glucose too, I think.

[The writer seems to be referring to a preliminary sketch for a portrait of a she-elf—“shopped” here may just be a shorthand for “photoshopped.”]
When I set foot into this gorgeous old barn, I cannot help but long to spend hours inside! It is shop full of unique rustic-style garden and home decor with rich ambiance.

[It’s possible the writer simply omitted the indefinite article “a†before “shop.â€]

[This one may well be a pun only, but it might also be evidence that the writer is at least aware of this as a variant.]

A double banger. Too cute; some may be intentional.
Even at the end of September, streets were full of tourists, and, with the big bright sun of Sunday, it was absolutely choke-a-bloke everywhere. ... And of course, it was choke-a-bloke too around Temple Bar in the night
