James Joule was a wealthy brewer’s son in northern England who had little formal education, with the spectacular exception of a tutelage by the physicist John Dalton. His experiments in the brewery laboratories, which led to a new result regarding the heat generated by an electrical current flowing through a resistive conductor, were snubbed by the scientific establishment, forcing him to publish in a Manchester newspaper. Other pioneering work on the transformation of work into heat led eventually to the naming of a unit of energy, the joule, in his honour.
Do you pronounce it Joule’s to rhyme with schools,
Joule’s to rhyme with Bowls,
or Joule’s to rhyme with Scowls?
Recently, joules are sometimes charmingly identified with jewels of energy, perhaps under the influence of Super Mario.
The moon imparts 2E20 jewels per second on each square meter on the earth twenty-four-hours a day moving the tides around and the magma underneath our feet.

Energy is the work done by an object. Work is equal to the product of Force and Distance, and is measured in Jewels. Objects have 2 different kinds of energy, potential and kinetic.

Last year renewables produced 1.2 ex-o-jewels of energy. 1.2 EJ/y

I agree that the J (jewels) of energy may be the same at the moment of impact, the friction and energy (carry) may be drastically different after impact

Are jewels similar to colories?
Jewels seem very elitist compared to the more democratic:
I was going to put a 12 vote alternator where the back wheel goes and use it to charge a 12 vote battery
