“The feeble position” was one of the best eggcorns of the year last year. This is not in the same class; you have to wonder what the perps are thinking. Perhaps that the feet are drawn up in the feetle position? Or more likely, they don’t know that it’s a fetal position, and they wonder what the feet have to do with it.
you grab a pillow and sit on your bed in the feetle position

You’ve just been told you’re going into battle. You:
Complain.
Say “Yes sir”
Pass out.
Cry in the feetle position. (Wimp)

“THAT IS REALLY FREAKY.” I don’t know whether to laugh, text back, or go into a feetle position

Feet are a big part of my image of the fetal position; misspelling is certainly a possibility here, but I wouldn’t want to rule out eggcornical thinking.
And this may be a good place to remind people of Kem’s discovery of the fatal position: http://eggcorns.lascribe.net/forum/view … hp?id=3374

Some kind of blending with beetle possible as well? I have the image of a compact, drawn-together body. In a way like falling into a comma.
Whatever it comes from, I love it.
