'bannedished' for 'banished'

I heard someone pronounce “banished” starting with a banned and wondered whether anyone really believed that banned was a contraction of the full formal Sunday-suited bannedished. Googling “bannedished” yields only a half dozen but there a quite a lot of the “bandished” variety.

... ensuring the safety of his consciousness and the grove and Princess Snacks, he is promptly bannedished from the land to roam eternally on …

Description: The person behind ansem the wise is DiZ,he desgaised as him because Ansem the wise got bannedished for a while, getting …

... is ultimate prestige. you can’t go from “having a driver” to having a helicopter and expect it to be funny. you are officially BANNEDISHED from this thread.

Re: 'bannedished' for 'banished'

You’re not outright banned, you’re only bannedished. This is a wonderful head shaker. Bandished is something else again, with its superstitious d-insertion. It turns out that the mechanism is not new. Bandit developed spontaneously likewise from the same root as ban and banish.

How superstitious can you get? Can you excrete an l and a d at the same time? Of course you can.

It began with a female executive, Peggy Sinclair, who was a rising star in the corporate HQ but she made a mistake of outshining her boss, and she was blandished to a remote plant that was about to close down…

But the real reason I’m posting is to suggest that vanish can be an eggcornical substitution for banish. There are dozens of instances of this form.
