"dry" for drive me up the wall

I stumbled upon this one obambulating. It doesn’t make much sense. Could it derive from a reading of “drives” with a letter missing: It dries me up the wall?

The first one with the delay times may have some convolution with “watching paint dry”? Otherwise, no idea.

Re: "dry" for drive me up the wall

But somehow thinking about drying up the wall set me to checking out another idiom:

She can’t belt, She is a COPYCAT, singing Mariah Carey songs, which proves she’s TALENTLESS singer. Mariah Carey will mock the floor with her.

I wear the best armour I can afford since if you don’t have good def verac will mock the floor with you trust me.. I wear full bandos + dragon fire shield.

Classic Thor would mock the floor with Cell. Classic Thor is much stronger then cell.

Certainly the idiom “mop the floor with” involves insult or taunting, which can perhaps translate to mockery. Perhaps this also says something about those who spend a lot of time commenting on the internet having more familiarity with mockery than with basic housecleaning?

My favorite: That parannoyed him up and down the wall.

we would be too simple-minded to understand it* .

(Possible Corollary: it is, and we are .)
