"want and destruction" for "wanton destruction"

I just saw this today on an RPG I play, and I’d never seen this one before:

“I know that there are just evil people in this world. Truely evil in their hearts and minds and they are set on want and destruction.”

Want, as if they just ‘want’ to cause trouble? Or something like greed, they’re doing this all to get what they ‘want’? I thought this one was cool, didn’t see it in the database.

Haha, I love it. A related version does appear earlier, wantingly for wantonly. Lots of scope for funny eggcorns with this one.

Yes, I like this one too.

It’s a better eggcorn (not necessarily a better malapropism or a funnier error) than Fishbait’s version, wonton destruction .

we would be too simple-minded to understand it* .
