We had a feast of cannon bear cheese, a huge loaf of bread, [...] for dinner! [...] We awoke after a lovely sleep in, ate our museli and cannon bear and vegemite sandwich which we also made for lunch

Oaka cheese was a great addition but i’m sure Parmesian would work fine too.

I guess Parmesian might be an English translation

Trop drôle. My taste runs to “goody” and “half hearty.”
Here’s a cheese you don’t usually see on a cheese plate:
Workout forum: “college cheese i love this stuff and lowfat milk maybe”
Bulletin board post: “I thought that “cottage cheese” was ” college ” cheese—and only college students were supposed to eat it…I also thought that all TV shows took place in the same universe, so that the Cleavers were neighbors of Rob and Laura Petrie, and that the Twilight Zone and Alfred Hitchcock Presents took place in the same area, so to speak…and I had the oddest delusion, that stayed with me until I was 14”

Hatching new language, one eggcorn at a time.

I love “cannon bear” cheese. I think it’s pushed the acorn right out of my lexicon.
Ken’s “fetid cheese” should probably be added to the platter: http://eggcorns.lascribe.net/forum/viewtopic.php?id=534
Plenty of hits of “ricottage cheese.” And ditto “limpburger”—which sounds even less appetizing than the original. I was disappointed however to find that “manta ray jack cheese” was a nopecorn.

Bummer (about the manta ray Jack). This is a great collection.

I love that idea of adding fresh grated partisan cheese..

Just set up a breading station, where you dip them in flour, then egg, then a mixture of bread crumbs & grated partisan cheese.
You can use the Italian bread crumbs, or if you use plain, just add some Italian seasoning and some crushed red pepper. You’ll also want to salt and pepper each breading step. Also, don’t use the cheap partisan unless you have to.

I can see a secret armed resistance group, operating underground and keeping themselves fueled with bread, wine and delicious Partisan cheese.

And a specialist cheese for those of advancing years:
I wanted to make French Onion Soup tonight and I bought a nice loaf of bread to get toasted for the top and some Greyhair cheese for it, too

One of the biggest cities in Saudi Arabia is Jeddah or Jedda. Apparently some folks think a sort of cheddar-like cheese, and even in some cases an Irish type of cheese, is made there.
