'upsorbed' for 'absorbed'

An understandable misunderstanding, soaking stuff up rather than ab.

Ramana Maharshi was so upsorbed in himself that he did not feel the bodily inconvenience of sitting many hours in meditation.

Himmler and co only came later as Goering became upsorbed in running the Luftwaffe during the war and then his drugs.

Been there, upsorbed that. “Missing” from that discussion…

I tried taking 2-4 links out and putting spacers between the rings up front to separate them more and tweaking the front derailleur settings up nauseum.

Re: 'upsorbed' for 'absorbed'

A google of “upsorbed + eggcorn” yielded nothing so I foolishly rushed in. Often it works.

I missed the original discussion somehow but here’s a late contribution:

Did i get upducted by aliens ?

Upducted by aliens!

Lots of examples on the web of folks using “upducted” for “abducted.” Most, admittedly, are not about aliens. But here’s another:

Gaming site: “They aren’t getting shut down, they aren’t getting blown up, and they aren’t getting upducted by aliens.”

I truly am sorry to say that we’ve been there, upducted that too: ups gone and upduction. The catacombs are pitiless.

If this were a sport I’d be trudging off the field in disgrace for a solitary weep in the showers. Good thing it isn’t, then. Chastened but with enthusiasm undimmed, the search goes on.
