"damn right disgusting" for "downright disgusting"

“downright” meaning “completely”, “utterly” has been around since the 17th century, according to the OED, and a quick search of Google Books finds “downright disgusting” from 1832. But probably because “downright” is now an extremely rare word it appears to have been reanalysed as “damn right”, as in “you’re damn right!”. I spotted it in the Daily Mirror today

“”The events that happened next were totally unacceptable and damn right disgusting.” http://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/ … ns-7470054

and it appears to be alarmingly common:

“Either way it’s discrimination, and discrimination is damn right disgusting on any level.” http://www.tvguide.com/news/raven-symon … -comments/

“What I am about to tell you might sound bizarre, weird or damn right disgusting. ” http://www.manlycurls.com/2011/07/stop- … s-so-much/

“Rude, offensive, tasteless and damn right disgusting jokes are my favourite.” http://www.vampirefreaks.com/lostallfeeling

“He encourages childish, damn right disgusting behavior towards females” http://www.lovefromflorencegrace.co.uk/ … -arse.html

“The derogatory bias towards male victims of domestic abuse is damn right disgusting ” https://www.whatdotheyknow.com/request/ … refuges_13

“Frankly it is damn right disgusting, that personnel whom describe themselves as ‘looking-out’ for the wider public via tax payers monies – are involving themselves in such activities. ” https://www.timeshighereducation.com/fe … 13.article

Aha! seached the database for “damn”, didn’t think to look for “darn” (possibly because it’s not really an expression we British use)
