Posters can check for duplication in a few ways…
1. Check the Eggcorn Database (which has eggcorns listed in alphabetical order).
2. Run “Search” with a single word. (In this case, “surname”)
3. Google your eggcorn with the word “eggcorn” and see if it directs you to this site.
Although some have had complaints about option 2 above, it has served me rather well most of the time.

I just found this one today.
None that I know of on my Texas father’s side, sir name Fountano.
discussion of genealogy
“Sir name” for “surname” makes sense, at least in a patrilinear society, where the surname comes from the father’s side of the family. Surely an eggcorn!
