I just saw this one on a message board today. It’s not a new/original one, but it’s the kind of eggcorn that I most admire: ones that really make sense (in an odd way). The mist of conversation—like the fog of war?

Indeed, it’s not new, as it already has an entry in the database. And this does seem to be more of an eggcorn than a typo, since the context implies the murkiness of the conversation (or perhaps there was a mist of tears?).

Here’s a similar example I encountered online the other day:
Yes, I think we did agree that political things would be discussed at length in a separate location, yet we would tell people about issues that are happening in our mist.
