Palin / squirmish

As you’ve probably heard, Sarah Palin has done it again. “Squirmish” for “skirmish.”

When the ex-governor of Alaska came up with “refudiate” a few months ago I was disappointed. We should have got there first, I thought. Now, though, balance has been restored. “Squirmish” for “skirmish” was mentioned in an Eggcorn Database entry posted by Chris in 2005. This time, no need to drag sore grapes from the back of the clubhouse fridge.

Re: Palin / squirmish

I’ve got that one documented (though not reported here) since ’98 (April 9, in fact—and the current date is totally irrelevant here.) My good friend Betty Casad (who will not mind being quoted) said “there are more squirmishes ahead”.
.
(added later) I note now that this post is dated yesterday, but I wrote it today, unless I was fooled somehow.

What does a c-section feel like? like right when you wake up?
doc knew i was skwormish

Transthoracic pneumostoma study
I am not skwormish about many things, but it will take 1 hour and when the woman showed me the catheter my eyes must have popped out of my …

OK, that’s the other squirmish, but thought I’d worm it in here.

Edit: I suggest that Ms. Palin hire DT to vet (or embellish) her future tweets.

Re: Palin / squirmish

That would be dangerous! I’d be so tempted to include many of the best.

Re: Palin / squirmish

btw, I have squirmishes as likely being a blend of skirmishes and squalls. Both are relatively small disturbances.

Re: Palin / squirmish

I see that “screamish” for “squeamish” has been done. I thought I had a live one for just a moment. It is one of the best I’ve dreamt up though, even if someone beat me to it.
